XVYCMa:
So we have ourselves a rollercoaster that will launch you 3,900 lightyears away to one of the largest stars in the universe, VY Canis Majoris. Well... maybe not. But we still have a ride that packs in height, speed, and crazy gravitational forces. Don't worry, you won't leave Earth's atmosphere!
XVYCMa starts off with an initial launch of 89 mph, only partially making it up the overbanked turn. The train rolls backwards, back into the launch track, where you then are thrusted to the ride's full speed of 118 mph. You fly through the station and up the 492-foot beyond-vertical spike, where you get some insane hangtime at a 118° angle. You then come hurdling back to Earth, through the station and launch track, then up and fully over that initial overbanked turn. Afterwards, the coaster goes up a large 313' vertical loop. Then comes one of my favorite elements, which is the second 492-foot tower, that spirals you upwards towards the stars. Upon reaching the top, you then repeat the course in reverse. Once you get to the launch track section, the ride slows you back down fully, and back into the station, ending the greatest ride ever built.
The idea:
This ride was inspired by a few other coasters. First and foremost, Top Thrill 2 (Dragster)'s swing-launch system and back tower. However, for my ride's first tower, I wanted to angle it further, so you get some crazy hangtime while you're up in the air. For the overbanked turn, I originally wanted it to be a camelback hill followed by a large swooping turn, like Formula Rossa's first hill and turn, but I didn't want to change the grid's dimensions in NoLimits, for I like the added challenge of working within limited boundaries. The overbanked turn is a slightly altered, mirrored version of Millennium Force's first overbanked turn. The Loop was basically inspired by the upcoming Tormenta's large vertical loop. Except my loop is even larger than Tormenta's lift hill! The spiraling second tower was something I envisioned on my own. I know there are other coasters with the similar element, but it was something that was predetermined with no other ride in mind. Would a park ever build this massive creation? It seems realistic. But would they shell out the money to do so? That'd be up to them! :-]
