South-East Metro Tunnel Bus Rework Trio - 603, 604 and 605 Triple Feature

Описание: Each of these three routes all have one thing in common. They're bus routes that travel in the south-east that had to be changed as part of Metro Tunnel construction works. In 2019, all three of the routes had some form of change in their route alignment, with the 216 and 220 being split in Melbourne CBD to form the 603 from Alfred Hospital to Brighton Beach, and the 604 from Alfred Hospital to Gardenvale. They were originally the 216 Sunshine to Brighton Beach and 220 Sunshine to Gardenvale. They both still run between Sunshine and the Melbourne CBD as their original routes.
Meanwhile the 605 was realigned from Batman Avenue to run via Royal Botanic Gardens, Southbank and Queen St that same year. Then came November 2024. The 603 was altered to run between Burnley and Brighton Beach instead of Alfred Hospital, the 604 was amended to run between Anzac Station and Elsternwick, and the 605 was realigned to run on Domain Rd, stopping outside Anzac Station.
Today, these routes form important links from the inner south-east towards Melbourne CBD.
