The Russian Ministry of Defense has released its official update on the progress of the Special Military Operation as of December 30, 2025.
According to the briefing, units of Russia’s “East” group of forces continued advancing deeper into Ukrainian defensive positions, striking multiple mechanized brigades, assault regiments, and territorial defense units across the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions. Ukrainian forces reportedly suffered significant personnel and equipment losses during these operations.

Meanwhile, units of the “Dnieper” group of forces liberated the settlement of Lukyanovskoe in the Zaporizhia region following active combat actions. Russian forces also carried out strikes against Ukrainian mechanized and mountain-assault brigades in Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.
The Ministry stated that Russian operational-tactical aviation, strike drones, missile forces, and artillery targeted energy facilities supporting Ukraine’s military-industrial complex, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian forces, nationalists, and foreign mercenaries across 150 locations.
