COVEDALE, Ohio (Sydney Benter) - A couple moms were organizing a car wash and donation drop to collect supplies for victims of flooding in West Virginia.
Andrea Ray woke up Saturday morning, June 25, inspired to take action, "I said to my husband, 'We have to do something.' We had seen it on the news and I had talked to family in the West Virginia area who--they were safe--and I said you know, seeing the devastation just broke my heart," said Ray.
She reached out to her friend Amy Mueller who is from Clandenin, West Virginia, an area ravaged by flooding.
"I had plans to go in the middle of this week and then Andrea contacted me and it was absolutely amazing," said Mueller.
The women were working with Dater Montessori PTN and Athletic Association to host a car wash and donation drop Tuesday, June 28, at Timmers Brothers Drive Thru. It will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 1996 Anderson Ferry Rd. A car wash will cost $5 and the women will be asking for non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies, baby items and hygiene products.
Ray and Mueller will deliver the items Wednesday, June 29. They'll transport them in their own personal vehicles, but a donated truck and trailer would be helpful.
People can reach out to Andrea Ray if they would like to help at [email protected].
