Learn how to apply effective problem solving using a cause and effect diagram, also known as a fishbone analysis, to get to the root cause analysis. This method, often used in lean methodologies, utilizes the power of 5 whys to drill down to the true cause and effect of recurring issues.
. Solve ANY Business Problem FAST with a simple to use FISHBONE Diagram.
Are you struggling to solve recurring problems in your business—and tired of fixing symptoms instead of root causes?
In this video, I'll show you how to use a Fishbone Diagram (Cause & Effect Diagram) to organize your thoughts and uncover the true root causes of issues affecting your profits.
Also known as the Ishikawa Diagram, this tool is a staple in Lean Six Sigma problem-solving. I’ll walk you through how to build a Fishbone Diagram using the 6Ms framework (Machine, Method, Material, Manpower, Mother Nature, and Maintenance) to brainstorm potential causes and identify where you need to focus your analysis.
You’ll also learn why I often pair this diagram with a 5-Why exercise to dive deeper into root causes—something I’ll be covering in an upcoming video, so make sure to subscribe and stay tuned!
🔑 In this video, you’ll learn:
✅ What a Fishbone (Cause & Effect) Diagram is
✅ How to build a Fishbone Diagram using the 6Ms
✅ Real-world example: Late Deliveries Problem
✅ When and why to use this tool in a Lean Six Sigma project
