Doom 64 CE - The Nintendo 64 game enhanced by the Doom community for PC

Описание: A estas alturas la mayoría de los fans de Doom y de los FPS clásicos en general conocen Doom 64, la entrega que salió en exclusiva, en su día, para Nintendo 64, y que se caracterizaba por ser un Doom completamente diferente a los de PC, no un mero port, tanto es así que algunos lo consideran el verdadero Doom 3. Tras varias recreaciones hechas por fans y un port a PC no oficial llamado Doom EX, finalmente Bethesda lanzó en 2020 un port oficial para PC y consolas de este Doom.

Sin embargo, los fans, no contentos con ello, han creado Doom 64 CE, que es una versión mejorada en todos los aspectos de Doom 64. Todo ha sido mejorado: texturas (2x AI upscaled textures y PBR materials), brightmaps, AI interpolated animations, sonidos ambientales para los objetos decorativos, música mejorada, etc. Una de las cosas que más me gustan es que han añadido las monstruos que faltaban en esta versión, como el chaingunner, el revenant, spiderdemon, etc, los podéis ver en el gameplay. Además, incluye varias campañas adicionales. En definitiva, es Doom 64 pero mejor, y eso solo puede ser bueno. Un gran trabajo el que han hecho los fans con este juego, y personalmente, en la actualidad es a lo que juego cuando quiero jugar a Doom 64. Lo mismo, por cierto, se ha hecho con Doom de PSX, del que traeré un vídeo próximamente.

Para que funcione, necesitaréis el archivo Doom64.wad del port oficial, y ejecutar el archivo .bat del directorio para que extraiga los assets.

At this point, fans of Doom and classic FPS in general know about Doom 64, the game that was released exclusively for Nintendo 64, and which was characterized by being a completely different Doom than the PC ones, not a mere port, so much so that some consider it the real Doom 3. A great job the fans have done with this game, and personally, nowadays is what I play when I want to play Doom 64. To make it work, you will need the Doom64.wad file from the official port, and run the .bat file in the directory to extract the assets.
