Описание: Hotdish isn’t a dish I grew up with, but after hearing it described as the MOST comforting casserole in existence, I knew I had to dig into it! Living in the Midwest, when winter hits, comfort food becomes serious business. So in this episode, I’m trying out this oddly named, deeply beloved casserole, and exploring why it means so much to so many people.

I make several classic versions, starting with the iconic tater tot hotdish, then moving into a knoephla hotdish rooted in Midwestern German immigration, and finally a very American taco hotdish that somehow found its way into Minnesota kitchens. After tasting them all, I take what works, question what doesn’t, and build my own version of what I think might be the ULTIMATE hotdish.
