The Recent Megaeruption in Washington; Kulshan Caldera

Описание: The active volcano known as now Mount Baker once produced a catastrophic megaeruption. This eruption was so large that it covered areas up to 125 miles away in a foot of ash. Closer to the eruption, this ash piled up to more than 3,000 feet thick. All of this occurred due to an ancient eruption to the east of the modern Mount Baker, which formed a large depression in the ground known as the Kulshan Caldera. This video will discuss this ancient eruption, and the extent of ash it left behind across the state.
