Mississauga: Tactical police at Square One shooting 7-18-2016

At 8h pm last night a man was shot near the Ruth's Chris Steakhouse at Square One at the intersection of Burnhamthorpe Rd and Karyia Gate in Mississauga. Peel paramedics transported the patient to a Toronto hospital followed by police cruiser with lights and sirens. A large police presence was noted as well as plain clothes investigators and heavily armed tactical officers. A canine unit was also dispatched at the scene. Initial scanner reports by paramedics mentioned that the victim was shot at the Ruth's Chris Steak House at that corner and that the shooting involved a car. Police have taped off a large area around the building where the restaurant is. Witnesses were interviewed in the parking lot by PRP officers. A large portion of a nearby parking lot was cordoned off by police while they conducted searches and interviews. The victim is listed as stable with serious injuries. No arrest have been made yet in connection with the shooting.
