Описание: අද මගේ සංචාරය K point සිට නාගසිවන්තුරෙයි දක්වා ආරම්භ වූ අතර එය අඳුරු ඉතිහාසයට සහ අප්‍රසන්න මතකයන්ට මඟ පාදයි. අතරමගදී, වනාන්තරය තුළ ගැඹුරින් සැඟවී ඇති බංකරයක් මා හට හමු විය, එය මෙම භූමිය හරහා දිව ගිය ගැටුම් සිහිගන්වයි. ත්‍රස්තවාදීන් විසින් ඉදිකරන ලද ඝන කොන්ක්‍රීට් බංකර් පද්ධතිය සහ බර අවි ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම සදහා සකසා ඇති භූමිය අතීතයේ පැවති අභියෝගාත්මක කාලවලදී අපගේ හමුදාව මුහුණ දුන් අරගලවල ප්‍රබල සංකේතයක් ලෙස පවතී. මෙම භූමිය සාමකාමී කිරීමට ගත් නිර්භීතකම සහ කැපකිරීම ගැන එම ගරා වැටුනු ගොඩනැගිලි සාක්ෂි දරයි.

මෙම කලාපය තවමත් යුද්ධයේ ප්‍රතිඵල සමඟ පොරබදමින් සිටී. තවමත් එම ප්‍රදේශ වල බිම් බෝම්බ ඉවත් කිරීමේ උත්සාහයන් අඛණ්ඩව සිදුවෙමින් පවතී. මෙම ගමනේ අන්තරායන් පිළිබඳව එය ප්‍රබල මතක් කිරීමකි.

මම නාගසිබන්තුරෙයි වෙත ළඟා වන විට එය ඉතා නිස්කලංකව පැවතුනද, ජැටියට කතා කළ හැකි නම් එය පවසන කථා සියල්ල කදුලු පිරි මතකයන් වනු නිසැකය. මා සුන්දර කලපු ජැටිය මතට ගිය අතර මද වේලාවක් එහි රැදී සිටියේ යුද්ධයෙන් රටට අහිමි වූ රණවිරුවන්ගේ දුක්බර කතාවලින් පිරුණු අතීතයේ දෝංකාරය ගැන සිතමිනුයි.

නාගසිවන්තුරෙයි ජැටියේ අවසානයට ළඟා වූ මම, 1993 නොවැම්බර් 10 වන දින නාවික කඳවුරට එල්ල වූ ඛේදජනක ප්‍රහාරය ගැන මෙනෙහි කිරීමට මොහොතක් ගත කළෙමි. ඒ කාලයේ ඒකකයේ ප්‍රධාන අණදෙන නිලධාරියා ඇතුළුව අහිමි වූ සියලුම නිර්භීත ආත්මයන්ට මම මගේ ගෞරව පුද කළෙමි. මගේ දවසේ ගමන අවසන් කරන විට, රණවිරුවන් කල කැපකිරීම් වෙනුවෙන් ගැඹුරු ගෞරවයක් මා සිත තුල හට ගෙන තිබිනි.

මෙම ප්‍රදේශය ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ සංචාරක කර්මාන්තය ඉහල නැංවීම සදහා භාවිතා කල හැකි සුන්දර ප්‍රදේශය කි. එය තවදුරටත් සංවර්ධනය කළ හැකි නම් මා විශ්වාස කරන අන්දමට එය රටේ දියුණුවට සම්පතක් වනු නිසැකය.

මෙම කතාව අපගේ ඉතිහාසයට උපහාරයක් වනු ඇතැයි මම බලාපොරොත්තු වෙමි.

Today my journey began from K point to Nagasivanthurei, a path that leads to dark history and unpleasant memories. Along the way, I came across a bunker hidden deep within the jungle, a reminder of the conflicts that once ran through this land. The solid concrete structure, built by rebels, remains a strong symbol of the struggles our military faced during those challenging times. It was humbling to think of the bravery and sacrifice it took to make this land peaceful.

Afterwards, I stopped at a small roadside shop to enjoy refreshing young coconut water. In that moment of peace, I paid tribute to my gratitude for the peace we currently experience, a blessing made possible by the fearless efforts of our troops.

This region is still struggling with the outcomes of the war. Land mine removal efforts are ongoing, with dedicated offices. This is a strong reminder for us of the dangers of this journey.

As I approached Nagasibanthurei, I rode upon the beautiful lagoon jetty hiding the stories it would tell if it could speak. I could almost hear the echoes of the past, filled with sorrowful tales of loss from the war.

Reaching the end of the Nagasivanthurei jetty, I took a moment to reflect on the tragic attack on the naval base on November 10, 1993. I paid my respects to all the brave souls who were lost, including the commander-in-chief of the unit at that time. As I concluded my day’s journey, I carried with me a deep sense of honour for their sacrifices.

This area has immense tourism potential in Sri Lanka. I sincerely hope that it can be developed further. It would not only honour the stories of those who came before us but also provide much-needed opportunities for the local communities and improve the lives of people across the country.

I hope that this tale will pay tribute to our history.
