#Hamboting La is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.056m (13,307 ft) above the sea level, located in #Ladakh region, in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The road to the summit is asphalted. It’s called #Kargil-Batalik Road. There are sheer drops virtually along the entire route and enough hairpins to make a whirling dervish dizzy. This route is not recommended if your passengers are prone to car sickness. The pass is also known as Hambuting La.
A JK police post is there on the top of the pass.It’s usually impassable in winters. The climb is simply terrible, with a notorious lack of oxygen that tests the organisms and a high degree of steepness. Most people feel altitude sickness at around 2,500-2,800 meters. Near the pass, oxygen is in short supply.
