This Is What 18 Days Alone at Sea Feels Like (Almost There)

Описание: Day 18 of our Atlantic crossing, and it finally feels like the dream we’ve been sailing toward.

Warm air, calm seas, a perfect sunrise, and that deep sense that land is getting closer. Morning coffee, miso soup, and a rare moment of stillness after days of motion.

We juggle fuel management, let the engine rest, and soak in the peace of sailing under main alone. As the sun sets, we throw out a fishing line, play with the dogs, and wind down with lentils, fresh avocados, and surprisingly good produce for nearly three weeks at sea.

The cockpit turns into a floating movie theater with a projector, popcorn, and a little Christmas spirit creeping in early. We read poems, attempt riddles, laugh at ourselves, and reflect on what it means to spend Christmas mid-Atlantic.

And then—finally—the Leeward Islands appear on the chart.

Two more days. Almost there.
