The fitness industry has been mired in a bunch of bs overcomplication of exercises for many years. And all of that wanking accomplishes a lot of nothing. But those people have the goal of creating 45 minute videos to pump the algorithm, keep you confused, and get views.
I'm here to help.
So I will be putting up a series of exercise technique videos, showing you how I teach the movements for best results. The difference being that what I will tell you
a. works
b. isn't overly complex
c. can usually be explained and/or demonstrated in roughly 3-5 minutes
Because the fact is this: if you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it.
And the rest of the talking heads, NONE of whom used the bs techniques they are showing you to develop their own physiques, don't understand it. And even if they did, their goal isn't to educate to begin with.
I understand it. And if you watch this videos you'll be amazed at how much more effective your training becomes using small basic techniques. Ones I can teach and they can NOT.
Let me note, these videos all have as their goal optimizing HYPERTROPHY training. Not performance, not strength, HYPERTROPHY. So spare me questions or comments (which I won't read) about "Does this apply to powerlifting?" or whatever.

So today I want to do a video version of an article I did years ago called Training the Calves. In it I look briefly at the anatomy, past training approaches, talk about Kangaroos and then give you a simple change to your calf raises that will make them actually work.
Yes, I said kangaroos. Trust me, it's important.
