Guitarist, composer, and Boy Edgar Prize winner Anton Goudsmit has been a creative force in the Dutch jazz scene—and beyond—for nearly 30 years. Known for his energetic and expressive playing, he has been part of acclaimed groups such as New Cool Collective, the Ploctones, and Ton Petit.

Jasper Somsen is one of Europe’s most recorded jazz bassists of the past decade. His deeply expressive style extends across jazz, classical, global, pop, and film music.

Their musical connection dates back to 1994, when they played together in the band of trumpeter Eric Vloeimans. Their duo collaboration began in 2014 and led to the live recording of the album Jasper Somsen invites Anton Goudsmit (Challenge Records) in 2025.

This performance marks the very first Pocket Concert — an intimate live session series spotlighting leading voices in jazz and world music in the Netherlands.
