Pianist Cor Bakker, bassist Jeroen Vierdag, and drummer Frits Landesbergen are leading figures in Dutch and European jazz.
Cor Bakker is renowned for his virtuosity and broad musical range. He has performed with artists such as Toots Thielemans, Philip Catherine, Lee Konitz, and the Metropole Orkest, and is well known from Dutch television and radio. His work has been recognized with major Dutch music awards, including Edison Jazz Awards. Jeroen Vierdag is one of the most respected bass players in the Netherlands. He has worked with Rita Reys, Ack van Rooyen, Benny Golson, and the Metropole Orkest, performing at leading jazz festivals worldwide. Many projects he contributed to, have received Edison Jazz recognition. Frits Landesbergen is an internationally acclaimed drummer and vibraphonist who has played with Chet Baker, Buddy DeFranco, Slide Hampton, and Toots Thielemans. He was awarded the prestigious Wessel Ilcken Prize, a grand honor in Dutch jazz. Together, on stage at the offices of worldofjazz.nl, they represent excellence in Dutch jazz performance.

*Digging the Archives
In this Pocket Concert, Cor Bakker Trio plays three works by Dutch composers who have been a great inspiration to Cor. Among these are works by Rob van Kreeveld, Rogier van Otterloo and Rob Franken.
While digging the Dutch Jazz Archives, Cor selected the advanced piece Six Seven Eight, a composition in six, seven, and eight-four time by the illustrious Dutch pianist Rob Franken (1941-1983), a pioneer on the Fender Rhodes electric piano.
