See this entire bathroom gutted to the studs and then rebuilt with large format porcelain tile in this quick video. This old bathroom built in the 60s was outdated and begging to be torn out and redone with a modern clean large format tile. The whole bathroom was torn out to the studs, all new electrical and plumbing was installed, and then bit by bit was updated to a beautiful modern tile bathroom with a very low curb. Schluter systems was used as a base for the tile with Kerdi Board and all the components that is used with a sealed shower system. A very large 16x32" porcelain tile was used on the walls with a matching 2" mosaic tile for the shower floor and ceiling. A large format wood look plank tile was used on the floor which was 8x48" The entire shower and floor area of the bathroom was made waterproof. In the video the tear out of the walls, floor, shower and ceiling are shown. Step by step the drywall, Kerdi board, ditra, wall, floor tile, grouting and silicone caulk are all seen, as well as lowering the shower floor to make the transition into the shower virtually curbless.
