Complete bathroom shower install time lapse start to finish. Including mud bed for linear drain, recesses niche, waterproofing, Schluter Kerdi Board, large format porcelain tile, wood look plank porcelain tile, and grouting. First step is to install the Schluter Kerdi Board, some furring and shimming may be required on the wall studs, wet shimming is also shown in this time lapse video. The mud bed for the flat pitch to the linear drain, in this case a 72” Schluter Kerdi-Line drain, is created by building two removable screeds at opposite ends of the flat pitch. The drain screed, which is the lower part of the pitched mud bed is built to a size slightly larger than the foam that comes with the linear drain and is temporarily attached to the concrete so that it is level and flat and at the correct height in relation to the higher screed at the other side of the shower floor. The screed at the curb side of the shower floor is also temporarily attached and leveled. Next the shower mud is poured and floated. The next day the screeds are removed, the drain base is installed and then the waterproofing is completed and the drain grate and shower floor tile installed. The work then moves to the wall tile, in this case a large format porcelain tile installed on a Running Bond pattern. The ceiling tile and wall tile is completed, the floor tile is installed and the entire bathroom is grouted.
