Flash Flood (Almost lost the Jeep) My Deepest water crossing EVER, Georgia Forest Roads.

The water picks up my jeep and carries me down stream, in a creek crossing that i had just safely crossed 30 minutes earlier

While exploring the forest in Georgia on a rainy Sunday, a flash flood warning is issued. The problem, I’m alone in the woods, no cell service, no internet, i have no idea it’s flooding. For the first few hours everything is great. I am riding on easy forest roads, taking in the scenery and enjoying the Wilderness. The first couple water crossing were uneventful.
Once i reached the next water crossing i took it as usual. I did notice the water levels swelling after crossing the said creek for the first time but it didn’t process that its a flash flood (this is when i compared it to the river of blood from Ghost Busters 2). The next several crossings i reached were completely flooded forcing multiple turn backs.
By the time i had returned to the creek crossing it had Risen like Christ on Easter morning, the only problem… i didn’t realize it. I hit the creek in 2 wheel drive, preparing to cross it as before. Now the water level is up over my fenders and briefly over my hood. The current picks up my jeep and turns me sideways. Now I’m floating backwards down the creek.
With quick reaction i throw the Jeep into 4hi, engaging the front wheels, turn off traction control, and slowly drive the Jeep out of disaster. Luckily i did not ingest water into the engine and hydro lock it. I drove out, surviving the adventure and able to share the ride with you today
