Описание: In this video from the IKONICS Imaging Maintenance Tips series, we cover the Abrasive Mix Valve—what it does, how it wears, and how to replace it safely. You’ll learn why the internal anti-siphon tube’s 1/4" hole gradually wears from round to oval over 5–10+ years, leading to “chugging” and inconsistent abrasive flow. We demonstrate proper removal: cut air to the machine, verify the pot is empty (0 PSI), disconnect the Pisco push-to-connect fittings, then twist the assembly off counterclockwise slowly to avoid cross-threading the abrasive nipple in the pressure pot. We show how to bench-vise the three attached fittings for transfer to the new valve, and how to reconnect hoses with a firm push and light tug to seat the teeth. You’ll see the valve’s cleanout plug (for clearing debris or hardened media) and a close-up of the anti-siphon path that keeps airflow constant so abrasive is picked up smoothly by gravity and air. Critical reassembly tips include reusing and fully tightening the retaining nut, applying Teflon tape to threads, and confirming all connections are snug to prevent leaks and restore steady blasting performance.
