Valerie’s research interests extend to all areas of maternity care with specific topic expertise in the areas of assessing fetal wellbeing and intrapartum care. Valerie’s methodological research expertise includes systematic reviews and qualitative evidence syntheses, randomised trials, studies within trials (SWATs), core outcome set development, and survey research. Valerie is a senior Cochrane Ireland systematic review trainer and is an Executive Committee member of the HRB-Trials Methodology Research Network, Evidence Synthesis Ireland, and the Trinity Centre for Maternity Care Research.
