After completing our Almora tour we headed for Binsar, we booked KMVN Binsar online ( http://kmvn.in/ ), double bed room, 3500/- including dinner and breakfast.
At Binsar forest check post, we had to get tickets at 150 per head and 250/- for the car. Binsar KMVN is just 10 km from the check post and 24 km from Almora.
The Binsar KMVN is situated within dense forest and one can see 180 degree view of Nanda Devi and Panchachulli Range from the view point at the backyard of the KMVN TRS.
The entire rest house runs with solar power, please note when the TRS is full, electricity may not be available after 8:00 / 8:30 PM.
Running water is always available in every washroom. However, hot water is provided only in the morning, 2 buckets per room.
After checking in, we visited Old Binsar Dak Bunglow, just a kilometer away, where Swami Vivekananda stayed for a couple of days in the year 1897 during his second visit to Almora. One can enjoy the magnificent view of sunset from the backyard of this Dak Bunglow.
We woke up early next day at around 5:30 am and rushed to the view point at the backyard of the Binsar KMVN TRS and enjoyed the sunrise, it was a very clear sky and we experienced one of the best sunrises till date, the glowing Nanda Devi with the first ray of sun is beyond explainable in words.
After experiencing sunrise we walked 2 km to the Zero point through the jungle road and got wonderful view of Nanda Devi from the tower at zero point.
