TITLE: GUARD YOUR HEART
Proverbs 4:23 says guard your heart above all else, for it determines the issues of life. We guard our hearts through storing the commands from the word and actively applying understanding so that wisdom can enter our hearts. Let us be filled with the Holy Spirit so that out of our belly may flow rivers of living waters for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Praying especially in the spirit builds us up and guards our heart.

”My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding;“

My son
This phrase indicates a paternal or mentoring relationship, suggesting wisdom is being passed from a father to a son or a teacher to a student. It reflects the familial structure of ancient Israelite society, where wisdom and instruction were often conveyed within the family unit. This approach is consistent with the broader biblical theme of God as a Father to His people (e.g., Deuteronomy 32:6, Isaiah 64:8).

if you accept my words
The conditional "if" introduces the idea of choice and personal responsibility. Acceptance implies not just hearing but receiving and valuing the teachings. This echoes the biblical principle of free will and the importance of choosing to follow God's ways (Deuteronomy 30:19). The "words" refer to divine wisdom, which is consistent with the emphasis on the power and importance of God's Word throughout Scripture (Psalm 119:11, John 1:1).

and hide my commandments within you

PRAYER
Heavenly father, help me to guard my heart daily and keep it pure. I ask that you perform a spiritual heart surgery and give me a renewed heart that beats with same heartbeat of my father in heaven. Tune my spiritual frequency to be in alignment and synchronized to the heavenlies.
