In this life, art and music seemed to be the only passions Taehyung lived for; the delicate stroke of the brush in contrast to the hum of his breathy and soulful voice to an unknown tune he’s fond of. Being a famous artist at times became heavy, but nevertheless the boy continued to showcase his artwork with top-selling painters while simultaneously making comebacks in the entertainment industry. Sure—he was happy, the kind of content of knowing success is in your favor.

And so when he meets Jeongguk, he doesn’t think of him of as more than a friend. He doesn’t relish in the subtle touches that light his body on fire, not even the mere glances that electrify every bone in his anatomy.

However, in the past life, Taehyung’s name was Hansung, and his lover was not the man of the present, but it was the princess, and her name was Cho Jihye. Sweet as chocolate, she was the epitome of a perfect bride. But under an order, their relationship ended too soon after the death of Hansung.


Hansung’s life seemed to circle around pain rather than bliss, that he understood of himself. He made a childhood promise to Jihye, the princess of the Silla kingdom, that he would marry her as soon as possible. Time goes on and they fade and then Hansung meets Cho Jiseok, the past life version of Jeongguk.

Things go unplanned, and the two end up falling in love with each other. As the story usually goes, their love was forbidden because a commoner should never be with a person of royalty. However, when Hansung discovers that Jiseok is the brother of Jihye, his life turns around at the sudden reality. Of course—he loved both of them equally, but falling in love with a man in that period of time could have put you to death.

In the present life, Jeongguk started to record videos of Taehyung to remember him by, and through them he began to realize that his feelings for the other were far more romantic than friendly.

As Taehyung begins to slowly accept the fact that the feelings between him and Jeongguk were far more than platonic, he tries to deny it the moment he realizes the reality of loving a man as a man in his country. It felt forbidden.

A love so pure like theirs was never viewed as pure; it felt wrong.

Because as much as the people loved the idea of the princess Jihye marrying Hansung, he was destined to be with Jeongguk.

And as much as he loved Jihye, he had to let her go, because in this life—it was too late.

Fate changes in the perfect moment.
