Boiling eggs and preparing different ways to eat them. All you need is a pot of water. Directions follow:
Take a pot with a good fitting lid. Add your raw eggs - choose eggs that have no visible cracks - add water to cover or nearly cover the eggs. **NOTE if you use eggs that are at least a week old they will peel more easily. Choose a pot that all the eggs will fit in a single layer. Put on the lid. Turn on your burner to medium or medium high. Heat until the water is at a full rolling boil - this usually takes about 10 minutes. Turn off the burner. Leave the pot undisturbed and set a timer for 20 minutes. Return after the 20 minutes, take your hot pot to the sink and drain the hot water off your boiled eggs. Select one egg at a time and hold them under cold running water while you sharply rap the egg against the inside of the pot or sink to crack the egg shell. The shell will peel off cleanly - if it is sticking run some more cold water over the egg while you gently peel it. Repeat until all the eggs are peeled. Place the eggs in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Place in refrigerator to cool. Use your hard boiled eggs in spinach salad, to make devilled eggs, egg sandwich filling or any other recipe that calls for hard boiled eggs. Eat cold or hot.
