This is the F Street Railroad Crossing owned and maintained by Union Pacific Railroad located on the Union Pacific Railroad Sacramento Subdivision main line former Western Pacific Railroad Feather River Canyon Subdivision main line. This crossing has had some changes since I first recorded it in 2014. The changes occurred mainly from 2017 - late 2019 at this crossing. In 2017 it was just a simple gate replacement from an old gate with WCH 4 inch Incandescent gate lights to a new one on the left signal with new Electro-Tech LEDs. In August 2019 the 12x20 inch WCH Incandescent Lights were replaced with 12 inch Electro-Tech LEDs inside 12x20 inch WCH Lights. In October 2019 the next change was to the right signals gate barrier which had an old gate with WCH 4 inch Incandescent gate lights was replaced with a new gate with Electro-Tech gate LEDs and also both signals were raised up higher at the bottom to position the gates and lights about a foot higher. In November 2019, Both of the Griswold Mechanical Bells were replaced here with NEG E-Bells with the left one looking brand new and the right one a stock new one. In December 2019 strangely the new 12 inch Electro-Tech LEDs were replaced with 12 inch General Electric Pixelated Look/Dotted LEDs for some unknown reason maybe because of a better fit for the 1990s WCH Lights. Whats unusual with this is that UP usually installs Electro-Tech LEDs inside there 12 inch 1990s WCH Lights and UP's 2000s WCH Lights usually get WCH 1st & 2nd Gen LEDs, Aurora/WCH Clear LEDs, and GE Pixilated Look/Dotted LEDs but here the 1990s WCH Lights they installed General Electric Pixelated Look LEDs. Luckily UP did not decide to fully replace the historic old Griswold EM Signals.
Crossing History:
These signals are an WPRR Install that originally had wishbone gates, gate lanterns, 8 inch Griswold Incandescent Lights, and Griswold Mechanical Bells up until the UPRR took over this line where it had its gates replaced with standard gates with 4 inch incandescent gate lights replacing the wishbone gates and lanterns which would of been in the early 1990s when the lights and gates were replaced the first time. The signals remained the same mainly until 2019 with the changes described in this video.
