Thirteen-year-old Long Thanh suffers from the lasting effects of Agent Orange, the chemical defoliant used in the Vietnam War. His muscles and bones ache, and he cannot dress, eat, or attend school without help. His brother faces similar challenges.
Even 40 years after the war, three million Vietnamese have been affected, and 150,000 children were born with severe disabilities linked to dioxin exposure. Despite Vietnam’s appeals, the U.S. has offered little support.
Life is extremely hard for Long Thanh’s family, yet they face it with remarkable resilience and hope.
