In support of IORA Day 2026 (7 March), this webinar showcased the role of the Indian Ocean Rim Association’s academic networks, including the University Network (UNIOR), in advancing regional cooperation, sustainable development, and strengthened ocean governance. Presentations and remarks highlighted the contributions of member institutions in fostering collaboration, academic exchange, and enhanced knowledge of the Indian Ocean region.
The webinar was co-hosted by the South African Chapter of the Indian Ocean Rim Association Academic Group (SA IORAG), based at NRF-SAEON, and the University of Pretoria.
