Описание:
In this lecture we explore the parasympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system (ANS), focusing on its cranial and sacral components, nuclei, ganglia, and target organs.
📌 What you will learn in this video
-) General organization of the parasympathetic system: cranial vs sacral
-) Cranial parasympathetic nuclei and pathways:
• Oculomotor nerve (Edinger–Westphal nucleus, ciliary ganglion, pupil constriction)
• Facial nerve (pterygopalatine & submandibular ganglia, lacrimal & salivary glands)
• Glossopharyngeal nerve (otic ganglion, parotid gland)
• Vagus nerve (thoracic & abdominal organs, heart, lungs, GI tract, glands)
• Accessory nerve (connections with vagus parasympathetic fibers)
-) Sacral parasympathetic system: pelvic ganglia, innervation of pelvic organs and genital structures
-) Functional roles: excitosecretory activity, visceral motor control, and clinical relevance
📚 Who is this video for?
-) Medical and biomedical students preparing for neuroanatomy and physiology exams
-) Educators and lecturers, who can use this resource to support their teaching
