Labour MP defends Starmer's action on Mandelson

Описание: Sir Keir Starmer is fighting for his political future after he admitted he knew about Mandelson's friendship with Epstein when he picked him for the job as US ambassador, but claimed he 'lied repeatedly' about the extent of the relationship.

This morning, Housing Secretary Steve Reed said giving him the role was "a rational appointment".

The police have launched an investigation into misconduct in a public office in relation to Lord Mandelson - after it was alleged he shared sensitive information with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

He is yet to comment publicly on the allegations, but has said that he regrets his friendship with Epstein.
