Collodion Basics Part 4: Chemistry

Описание: This is the fifth of ten videos in a series meant to demonstrate the basics of wet plate photography. Following all the way through should teach you everything you need to outfit yourself and start making your first tintype photos.

This video covers all of the chemistry you'll need to get started making plates, both how to procure it and how to mix and store it. This one is by far the longest video in the series, but hopefully it will help you sort through the confusing array of wet plate chemistry supplies available.

Apologies in advance for the potato quality video, I unfortunately didn't review the video until several days after shooting it when I discovered that my wide camera had been out of focus the entire time. I also failed to properly plug in the microphone and had to scrap the first, introductory segment of the video, so just all around not my best day.

Developer Recipes
------------------------------
Copper Positive Developer:
500mL water
10g ferrous sulfate
10g copper sulfate
4g potassium nitrate
3mL acetic
20mL alcohol optional

Coffer's Positive Developer:
900mL water
54mL ethanol
54mL glacial acetic
36g ferrous sulfate

Brandon's Positive Developer (I haven't tried this one yet):
800ml distilled water
32g ferrous sulfate(the good green crystals)
48ml glacial acid.
32 ml everclear
3-4g potassium nitrate
