पश्चिम बंगाल में जारी मतदाता सूची के विशेष गहन पुनरीक्षण (SIR) के खिलाफ मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी की याचिका पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट में सुनवाई हुई. सुनवाई में शामिल होने खुद ममता बनर्जी पहुंचीं और वकीलों की कतार में सबसे आगे दिखीं. ममता बनर्जी ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट में सुनवाई के दौरान कहा कि मैं इसी स्टेट से हूं मैं एक्सप्लेन कर सकती हूं. उन्होंने सबसे पहले तीनों जजों का अभिवादन किया और फिर आगे कहा कि हमें इंसाफ नहीं मिल रहा. मैं सामान्य परिवार से हूं, लेकिन अपनी पार्टी के लिए लड़ रही हूं. इस पर सीजेआई ने कहा कि पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार भी केस लड़ रही है. सिब्बल-गोपाल जैसे लीगल लोग बहस कर रहे हैं.
