An early morning drive at "Northern Alps Panorama Road".
"Northern Alps Panorama Road" runs along the Takase river, and visitors can enjoy beautiful scenery of Japanese Northern Alps. The mountains include, Mt. Jonen (2,857m), Mt.Kashimayari(2,889m), and Mt.Shirouma(2,932m).
The Northern Alps, also known as the Hida Mountains, stretch through Nagano, Toyama and Gifu prefectures. A small portion of the mountains also reach into Niigata Prefecture. It includes the mountains Mt. Norikura3,026m), Mt. Yake(2,455m), Mt. Kasa(2,897m), Mt. Hotaka(3,190m), M.t Yari(3,180m), Mt. Tsurugi(2,999m), and Mt.Goryū(2,814m), etc.
The road is used also for accessing Hakuba, which is a famous ski resort.
