Most areas see increasing cloud and rain as low pressure and several weather fronts move in. Heavy rain affected southern England and Wales this morning and will spread into Northern Ireland, northern England and southern Scotland through the afternoon. It turns breezy, with a risk of heavy, even thundery downpours following behind across southwestern areas. A southerly wind keeps temperatures on the mild side for the time of year, reaching 9–10°C, which is above average. Overall, there is little sunshine for most places, except perhaps the far north of Scotland, with plenty of cloud and rain around. - This is the Met Office UK weather forecast for the afternoon of 21/01/2026.
