Persistent rain affects much of Scotland this morning, driven by a strong southeasterly wind. A Met Office amber rain warning is in place over parts of Scotland. Showery bursts spread across Northern Ireland, Wales and the West Country, while low cloud and rain cover much of England. The far east may see some dry spells, but it will still feel windy here. Rain lingers through the day as the wind continuously feeds in moisture and cloud. Temperatures reach around 10°C in the south and 8°C in the north, but feel lower in the wind and rain. - This is the Met Office UK weather forecast for the morning of 22/01/2026.
