In this video, I draw a realistic graphite portrait study of a woman, focusing on smooth value transitions and the challenge of rendering woven fabric.
This timelapse was drawn using the grid method and graphite pencils only, with an emphasis on layering and repeated blending to achieve softer, more controlled shading.
The clothing was the most difficult part of the drawing, as this was my first attempt at capturing realistic woven material using graphite.
