Self-servicing your e-Bike consists of 3 easy steps: 1. Degrease, 2. Wash and 3. Lube.

Here’s how to do it:

Pro Tip

Before cleaning, you may need to remove your bike’s battery to avoid contaminants reaching electronic components. For this bike, the battery is internal, so we’ll leave it intact.

Step 1

First, we’ll need to degrease the drivetrain. For this step, we’ll be using Finish Line’s Speed Degreaser to blast away dirt and contaminants. Speed’s unique ‘dry degreasing technology makes it perfect for use on e-Bikes as it evaporates quickly after use and leaves surfaces residue free.

Spray Speed Degreaser generously on the chain, cassette, and derailleur pivots to remove tough grease and grime from your drivetrain.

Step 2

Now it’s time to wash the rest of the bike. For this step, we’ll use Finish Line e-Bike Cleaner. Formulated to safely remove dirt and grime without the use of water, this highly engineered clinging foam cleaner is gentle, non-caustic, and leaves behind no streaks.

Spray e-Bike Cleaner to your frame, wheels, and components.

Step 3

Wait 5 minutes for e-Bike Cleaner to break down stubborn grit and grime before removing from the surface.

It’s important to avoid using a hose or power washer for this step, as water can easily seep into your bike’s sensitive electronic components.

We recommend using a clean cloth to wipe the surface for a super clean finish.

Step 4

Now that your e-Bike is looking clean and contaminant free, it’s time to relubricate.

The conditions you will be riding in may dictate the lubricant you choose, but we recommend using Finish Line e-Bike Lube as it’s an extremely robust and versatile lubricant designed specifically for e-Bike applications.

Once applied to the chain, it will set up with a light, wet film which includes unique additives that withstand high-pressures and ensure the lube stays within the chain’s pins.

Before applying, shake your bottle well to ensure all the additives are blended together.

Next, apply e-Bike Lube to your chain. Start backpedaling and squeeze a steady stream to coat each chain link.

Step 5

Finally, use a clean cloth to remove any excess lubricant. This is important because excess lubricant could attract dirt on your chain.
