5/25/1971 Senators at Red Sox highlights The Joe Foy Revenge Game: Washington beats Boston in 11

Описание: This is a 14-minute video of highlights from the later innings of the May 25, 1971 Major League Baseball Game between the Washington Senators and the Red Sox in Boston, won by the Senators in 11, 6-5.
It is from the WHDH-TV in Boston broadcast, with Ken Coleman and Ned Martin on play by play, and Johnny Pesky on analysis.
Joe Foy, a popular third baseman on the 1967 Red Sox Impossible Dream American League pennant-winning team, returned to Fenway Park as a member of the Senators and broke the fans' hearts by going 4 for 5 with a walk and singling home the winning run in the 11th.
Foy was selected by the Royals in the 1968 expansion draft, was traded to the Mets (for Amos Otis!) in December of 1969, and plucked from the Mets by the Senators in the 1970 Rule 5 draft.
He hit only .234 in 41 games with Washington in 1971 before being released on July 16, so a large percentage of his hits in his final season actually came in this game.
Notes: This was a fun one for other reasons, too, starting with the fact that Martin caught a foul ball in the booth! ... I did not recall that Harvey Haddix was the Red Sox' pitching coach ... Nice move by Sox manager Eddie Kasko, pinch hitting pitcher Gary Peters, a decent hitter, for pitcher Bob Bolin in the eighth - Peters hit a sac fly ... We briefly see the Frank Howard shift! The bat really does look like a toothpick in his hands! ... Phil Gagliano was the Red Sox pinch hitter who grounded into the 6-4-3 double play to end the 10th.
