Please take a moment to consider your needs before implementing this exact method, this method demonstrated a page based revision technique, an alternate method would be project based revision assignment.
Page level revision assignment
This method works well when you need to assign the revision individually at each page.
Determine if you need revision data on report pages, report pages are generated each time they are created and will wipe out the revision data.
Project level revision assignment
Rather than using a page property use a project level property to create the revision number, in this way you will be limited to one revision character per project. However this data will be automatically assigned to the project pages and report pages.
