In the previous vlog you have seen Indian came to Panjakent while asking for free ride or hitchhiking from Khujand to Dushanbe and then to Panjakent , The person who is riding the car was worried about me where I would stay at night in Panjakent, after reaching , they asked Receptionist of Panjakent Plaza Hotel for allowing me to stay in free , hence they gave me Staff room to stay and also free breakfast .

In this vlog you will see Indian travelling in the city of Tajikistan named as Panjakent. As I am in the city centre so touring the city area is quite easy as straight road ahead 2kms covers all the important tourist places. Panjakent has great importance on ancient Silk Road as it’s also connected with the Samarkand city of Uzbekistan which is just 60 kms from Panjakent. If you are in Uzbekistan, then you must not miss visiting the city Samarkand of Uzbekistan and if you are willing to travel and cross the borders from Uzbekistan to Tajikistan then also you can make it easily .

Panjakent is quite ancient city , those who are willing to know a lot about history then must visit to Panjakent. Sogdian Empire whose last ruler was Devastich before Islam came in Panjakent around early period of 8th century. Sogdians were great merchant , wonderful Artist and respect all religions and also adopted other religions which also help them in making good connections and doing good trade across Silk Road .

While walking on the road I came across Tajik wedding function happening around me , so decided to visit there , but Tajikistan wedding didn’t started yet so I decided to explore the places around . As you know Uzbekistan and Tajikistan was part of Russian Empire for around 150 years directly or indirectly. Russians divided the border of Central Asia for their interest , People of Tajikistan always claim that the cities of Samarkand & Bukhara was part of Tajikistan but there’s not any fight between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Sarazm is 5500 years Old city which is just 6 km away from City centre of Panjakent , many foreigners come to visit here , specially from Germany & China . For people of German , visa is free for Tajikistan visit . Maybe I will visit there as well . People of Sogdia used to worship even Hindu Gods , Bhagwan Ram ji , Bhagwan Hanuman ji , Bhagwan Shiva ji and Mata Parvati ji , also from Panjakent ancient archaeological site various proofs were found about the people who used to follow religion Zoroastrianism , Shivaism , Hinduism, Buddhism and other religions as well . Statue of Bhagwan Shiva ji and Mata Parvati ji found from archaeological site of Panjakent and also other pictures of Hindu Gods which are kept at Hermitage Museum of St. Petersburg , Russia & Dushanbe Museum , Tajikistan.

As moving forward I reach the ancient Bazaar of Panjakent, Bazar of Central Asia generally closed by 7 pm in evening , I reached late , Near to Bazaar there’s also beautiful Mosque . As you have seen Indian visited Panshanbe Bazaar of Khujand Tajikistan which is quite wholesale Bazaar of Sughd region , the prices here at Panjakent Bazaar is bit higher as compared to Panshanbe Bazaar . In Panjakent not the Mini Bus : Marshrutka don’t operates but the Big SUV car runs as local transportation, the cost is 2 TJS / 18₹ for normal short distance kind journey.

Before reaching back to Hotel , I went to experience the Tajik Wedding happening in the Big Banquet. Bride is dressed in White dress and Groom in Tuxedo , the wedding style is in a Russian way . People sit on Tables and enjoy the feast , dance and have fun .
