SCOTTSDALE ARIZONA'S BEST HIKES: Tom's Thumb

Описание: In this video, we travel to McDowell Sonoran Preserve, near Scottsdale, Arizona to hike to one of the most iconic rock formations in the region—Tom’s Thumb.

This massive granite monolith is a popular landmark for both hikers and climbers, and gets its name from its resemblance to a thumb protruding from the ridge line.

It is named after Tom Kreuser, a respected figure in the local climbing community, known for his passion and skill in conquering challenging routes, who was the first club member to climb it.

Things to Know:
Trail Hours: Sunrise to sunset
Distance: 4.6 miles (round trip)
Difficulty: Moderately Difficult
Elevation Gain: ~1,266 ft
Time: ~55 minutes each way
