Downshift Masterclass! | Arriva LK65 planted through Selkent ft. High Speeds on Dartford’s Route 492

We’re back!! It’s been a long time coming but at long last, I’ve ticked off a Dartford route. The trek to cover these routes are insane but the runs I’ve had on certain HVs and Ts from this garage have never disappointed so I can never say it’s not been a worthwhile trip. As you all know, Dartford Garage houses the largest fleet of Euro 6 Enviro 400s in London, a rarity amongst the London buses fleet not just for Arriva but for all operators! I’ve been lucky enough to experience one getting ragged (as they should be) and due to this, today I’m presenting to you guys my first LK65 T production. This will definitely not be the first and final one!!

This particular LK65, T309, was a very interesting one. It downshifts nicely and builds up speed quickly but as it accelerates it also kinda has a whooshing sound to it which is promiment throughout a number of clips within the video, it was kinda reminding me of the E400Hs at Plumstead too. Let me know if I’m not the only one!!

The 492 is operated out of Arriva London’s Dartford Garage and it runs between Sidcup Station and Bluewater Shopping Centre via Foots Cray, Bexley, Bexleyheath, Crayford, Dartford & Stone. A lengthy but very nice and enjoyable route at the same time. With a keen and heavy footed driver, it’s pretty much breeze and steeze. It’s a route with a lot of thrash points including North Cray Road and London Road (through Stone) as well as a fair amount of backroads as it twists in and out of the Crayford and Dartford areas too!
