The Cab POV series has returned. Today we unlock a new part of London and a different audience to appeal to. As you’ve clicked onto the video and quite possibly reading this description, you’ll know that we’ve finally reached East London.
Right before you, a drivers view of the Route 123 which runs between Wood Green Station and Ilford, Hainault Street via Turnpike Lane, Tottenham, Walthamstow, South Woodford and Gants Hill and is operated out of Arriva’s Tottenham Garage in North London. Unfortunately though, it’s another B5LH video. However to spark your curiosity, it’s one of the Ex-Stagecoach G3s and it’s safe to say this one is in very good condition! Quick acceleration, builds speed quickly, revs nicely through the gears - just like a healthy Gemini 3 should be! Props to Tottenham for keeping them in good shape!!
On another note, this POV is rather commemorative as after having this route since 2005, it was announced that the route would be switching operator to Go-Ahead London sometime in February 2026. A very sad switch of operator for Route 123 users but I’m certain its Arriva legacy will live on! And to add insult to injury, TfL plans to cut back the route from Wood Green to Turnpike Lane as per their ‘Harringey Heartlands’ proposals, so enjoy this video of 123 in its prime I guess - feels like the route only goes downhill from here!!!
