Actual radio transmissions from Shannon Street Incident January 11, 1983 in Memphis, TN which saw one officer shot and a second officer held hostage and beaten to death. Seven suspects in the house were later shot and killed by police tactical unit after a thirty hour siege making this the largest number of suspects to die in a non-riotous local police action in the history of this country. The recording begins with the phone call made by Michael Coleman, from 2239 Shannon Street, to police communications. The true crime novel of the same title, written by James R. Howell is based on the police case file. Documentary, "Shannon Street: Echoes Under a Blood Red Moon” is available. Movie based on book begins production in the future.
