Controlling Enhancement Drugs | Law, Harm and Policy | Lecture

Описание: In this lecture on the control of enhancement drugs I explore what enhancement drugs are, what the laws surrounding their control are, and where there may be limitations to current provision and some suggested policies. I explore prohibitionist policies and how these may create drug harms, as well as clarifying the UK situation and where this differs from such models. I then go on to explore some of the specific harms related to IPEDs and policy provision to address these, such as NSP, specialist steroid clinics, and possible peer mentoring or steroid advice programmes in gyms. These are linked to discussions of the market for underground steroids and harms associated with UGL product, as well as the evolving 'grey market' for novel enhancers, and their accessibility online and what this means for harm reduction. I link this to the debate on legalisation and formal regulation as an alternative to current 'grey market' status.
