Is it safe to clean a newborn's clitoris if there is discharge. What should I use?

It's very normal for new-born girls to have a little bit of vaginal discharge. In fact, it's also normal for them to have a little bit of spotting or bleeding because of hormones the mother has passed to them while they were inside of the mother.
If you notice a little bit of discharge, it is totally fine to wipe it away with a wipe. If you notice that it seems excessive or you notice a ton of bleeding or you notice any other cuts or concerning things. Then be sure to bring it up with the pediatrician. But if it's just a little bit of discharge it's okay to just wipe it away and just keep watching.
