"Sojugada Sooju Mallige" is a devotional song brought to life by the Kannada artist Ananya Bhat and when she sung in the presence of Sadhguru on Mahashivaratri, the beauty and innocence of the song touched millions of hearts with the divine love of Mahadeva.
During these hard times caused by the covid-19 pandemic, when millions of people are suffering, I felt the need for a prayer to get us through this difficult time.
This led to the song Mahadeva sung in Telugu, my mother tongue, inspired by “Sojugada” and it is a prayer to Mahadeva.
May blessings of Mahadeva be upon us and let the suffering of millions come to a shift end, and let us become victorious over this pandemic.
I am dedicating this prayer to all our brave doctors, nurses, social workers and soldiers whose selfless efforts on the frontline are helping us all.

Oh Mahadeva, with lots of devotion we offer you beautiful Jasmine flowers, the Lotus born in a pond, a garland made of bael and tulsi leaves dipped in sandal.
Born as human beings, we forgot the humanity by eating and killing the poor animals/birds and became burden for the earth.
By cutting the trees and messing the birds, we raised the buildings and bungalows and in the luxury of these we drowned ourselves to death.
Oh Mahadeva, we have made sinful mistakes and now with true realisation we have come to you to beg for our lives, please save us.
