Its subject was a lab-created hybrid, part human and part reptile, created to rid the city of those marked as disposable. It was The Morphalis.

Its first hunting ground was Manchester’s Piccadilly Gardens. The disappearances began quietly—junkies, street dealers, rough sleepers. No witnesses. No bodies. Just absence. Those who claimed to glimpse it spoke of a figure fused into the stone, amber eyes flashing before it struck. People whispered it didn’t carry its prey away—it reduced them where they stood, leaving behind streaks that only the rain could thin.

The Gardens were only the beginning.

Stories now place The Morphalis down by Cottagers Cove, the reeking canal where men slip into shadows for hurried, lewd acts.
Here the killings are closer, uglier. Those who linger hear only a wet tearing sound before silence falls.
