Circa1906 Philipps made PianOrchestra, imported and sold by Wurlitzer. Stands 7 feet 10 inches tall by 5 feet 9 inches wide, 2 feet 10 inches deep. Features a 56 note piano (12 bass notes are two-string octave unisons) with automatic loud and soft pedal controls, 37 violin/violoncello pipes, bass and reiterating snare drums, and a set of 13 orchestra bells (glockenspiel) with solo capability. Its original location is rumored to be the lobby of an Oklahoma bordello before being rediscovered in 1965.
It was last on public display in a winery/art gallery/museum complex on Whidbey Island, north of Seattle. During the 1970's it was displayed in the Movieland Wax Museum Restaurant, Buena Park, California. Restored by D.C. Ramey Piano Company in 2014, the instrument currently is in a private collection.
