This video provides evidence relating to highway safety and network resilience in connection with the proposed school development at Empshott Grange.
It relates to planning application SDNP/24/03736/FUL and the subsequent application SDNP/25/03084/FUL
The footage and illustrative material document existing constraints on the B3006, Mill Lane and Church Lane, including:
• Restricted carriageway width
• Limited passing provision
• Service vehicles leaving the carriageway
• Junction delay and queue accumulation
• Network vulnerability during incident conditions
• Limited capacity to accommodate additional traffic
The material demonstrates existing operational limitations and the network’s constrained ability to cope with increased peak-hour movements. It highlights the potential cumulative impact of additional traffic on routes that already exhibit restricted geometry and limited resilience.
