Oh also, this team? They have never been in the top flight of their country before, until now.

Germany has produced some insane stories of club growth from Leipzig to Hoffenheim, but without an injection of serious cash, it’s basically someone pupeteering a football manager run up through the divisions. For this club, the puppeteer is their actual manager, who has been in charge for the entirety of their run to the Bundesliga.
